Our Story

Longaniza Janitzio has been delivering results since we opened in 1990.

              The Andrade family migrated from Mexico to Central California in 1976 in search of an opportunity to a better life.  In 1991, members of the family put their savings together and opened Carniceria Janizio #1 in McFarland, California.  Three years later they opened Carniceria Janitzio #2 in Delano, California to reach and serve a wider area of the growing Hispanic population.  As the stores flourished, the Andrade family noticed there were some items selling in much greater volume than others, in particular, their home made chorizo/longaniza (Mexican sausage).

             The fact that this individual product was selling in great quantities gave the Andrade family the idea of creating a Chorizo/Longaniza processing plant in Bakersfield, California.  Chorizo Janitzio Inc. begins its operation in 2012 to help fulfill the Andrade’s Family goals.

            The Andrade family believes that their Chorizo product will be widely accepted in stores and supermarkets.  The Andrade Family continues to reach the general public and provide them with the opportunity of tasting this exceptionally appetizing chorizo/longaniza.
